Over 270 gymnasts to compete at the European Gymnastics Championships in Romania this April

Romania’s Cluj-Napoca will host the 7th European Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships this April, with more than 270 gymnasts competing in the event.

A total of 37 federations will travel to Romania for the European Gymnastics Championships, with a total of 274 gymnasts being scheduled to compete, namely 168 male and 106 female gymnasts, according to information posted on the event’s official website.

While local stars such as Catalina Ponor, Marian Dragulescu, and Larisa Iordache are sure to attract the attention of Romanian fans, Olympic Champions Eleftherios Petrounias (Greece), Oleg Verniaiev (Ukraine), Krisztian Berki (Hungary), and Sanne Wevers (Netherlands) are also expected to bring many fans to Cluj-Napoca.

Other gymnasts to compete in the Championships are Ukraine’s Diana Varinska, Russian junior 2016 European all-around champion Elena Eremina and her male 2012 counterpart Frank Baines, Italy’s Francesca Linari, Switzerland’s Lyn Genhart, and Lithuania’s Tomas Kuzmickas.

Romania will be represented by Marian Dragulescu, Cristian Bataga, Vlad Cotuna, Robert Ghiuzan, Laurentiu Nistor, Andrei Ursache, Catalina Ponor, Larisa Iordache, Ioana Crisan, and Olivia Cimpian. The full list of participants can be found here.

The 7th Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships will take place at the Polyvalent Hall (Sala Polivalenta) in Cluj-Napoca, central Romania, from April 19 to April 23. The Hall is located in the city center, on Stadionului Alley, close to the Cluj Arena stadium.

Tickets are already on sale, and can be purchased online at Myticket.ro and Polivalentacluj.ro, or from the ticket offices of the Polyvalent Hall in Cluj-Napoca. Tickets for the qualifications (April 19 or April 20) cost RON 30, RON 40, or RON 50, those for the all-around finals (April 21) cost between RON 60 and RON 100, while tickets for the apparatus finals (April 22 or April 23) have prices between RON 50 and RON 70. Moreover, subscriptions for finals (April 21, 22, 23) cost from RON 150 to RON 230, while a total subscription (April 19-23) can be purchased for prices between RON 180 and RON 280. Children under 6 can enter for free.
