Work at a gas pipeline and a storage unit brought to light the remains of a 7000-year old cemetery, reports local Digi24. The discovery was made 20-km from Satu Mare, in northwestern Romania.
The cemetery dates from 4950 BC. Seven tombs have been unearthed so far, as well as a bull head.
The archaeologists also found several ceramic pots and axes in the tombs. Based on these objects, they can determine the community members’ status.
Research will continue in the area until the end of the month.
