Bucharest Stock Exchange appoints broker Valentin Ionescu on general manager position

Valeriu Ionescu is the new general manager of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). Ionescu replaces Anca Dumitru, who has resigned from the position.

Valentin Ionescu, 38, is a Economics Academy (ASE) graduate and holds an MBA from CNAM Paris and ASE Bucharest. He also holds a specialization in finance from the Georgetown University and a diploma in banking management from the CODECS University.

Previously he worked with brokerage firm such as Euroinvest Bank AG Viena and Wood & Company Financial Services in Prague. Ionescu has been working on the local stock market since 1995. His previous job was with BCR – Erste.

Ionescu was appointed in the new position after the BVB council meeting yesterday.
