Bucharest university students win first place at regional math Olympiad
A team of Romanian students from the Bucharest Polytechnic University has won the first place at the 11th South Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad for University Students - SEEMOUS 2017, which took place in Macedonia from March 1 to March 5.
The Romanian students won three gold and three silver medals, according to a statement from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.
Emanuel Necula from the Faculty of Computer Science won a gold medal with a maximum score. The other two gold medals went to Sebastian Cojocaru (Faculty of Computer Science), and Alexandru Bratei (Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science).
Meanwhile, Cristian Pavel, Amir Zamfiratos, and Iustin Sirbu won silver. They are all students of the Faculty of Computer Science.
A total of 20 universities from Southeast Europe participated in the Olympiad.
