Building permits and urbanism certificates to be issued online in Romania
Romania’s municipalities will be obliged to issue building permits and urbanism certificates online, according to changes to the planning and urbanism law to be put into public debate within a week by Romania’s Regional Development and Public Administration Ministry (MDRAP).
The city halls will have to register in the e-guvernare.ro online portal and accept online requests for building permits and urbanism certificates. They will also have to issue these documents online, with an electronic signature.
“People are tired of bureaucracy and papers. We must be very willing to work online to shorten the response time and reduce the interaction between public clerks and beneficiaries,” said Diana Tenea, the general manager of the Regional Development and Infrastructure Directorate within MDRAP in an interview with Capital magazine.
“Our intention is that, in the first phase, anyone can get urbanism certificates online, as these are informative documents. If you want an urbanism certificate, you send the request online and the city hall issues the document online with an electronic signature,” she added.
