The value of payments made by card in Romania during this year’s Black Friday shopping event doubled compared to last year, according to PayU Romania payments integrator.

The value of all orders was 2.5 times higher compared to last year, reports local Hotnews.ro.

The IT&C products accounted for almost half of all the orders recorded in the three days and represented 66% of the total value. Fashion products had a 10% share in the total number of orders and represented 5% of the total value. Perfumes, watches, accessories and books accounted for 21% of the total orders and 22% of the total value.

The Black Friday shopping event extended over the whole weekend, Friday included. The biggest payment made by card amounted to over EUR 4,000. However, the record transaction in the three days reached almost EUR 4,500.
