Bucharest City Hall to spend EUR 12 mln to revamp three famous parks

Bucharest City Council (CGMB) approved on Wednesday the draft decisions under which several repair works will be carried out in three of Bucharest’s largest parks, namely Carol, Cismigiu, and Herastrau. The total investment will amount to some RON 56 million (over EUR 12 million).

Thus, in Carol Park, the City Hall wants to install an irrigation system, and repair the water and sewage installations. The value of the investment is estimated at RON 9.6 million (EUR 2.1 million), reports local Hotnews.ro.

Moreover, the authorities also plan to repair a bridge in Cismigiu Park in downtown Bucharest, the investment being expected to amount to RON 1.6 million (some EUR 350,000), and restore the Herastrau lake shore with around RON 45 million (almost EUR 10 million).

Bucharest City Hall’s budget for 2017 provides EUR 27 million for the capital’s 11 parks. The budget also includes investments in healthcare, education, infrastructure, public transport, and culture, as well as in strengthening buildings with seismic risk.
