Continental opens R&D center in Romania's Brasov after EUR 6 mln investment

German car parts producer Continental inaugurated yesterday a new research and development center in Romania, following a EUR 6 million investment.

The new center is located in Brasov and will employ 60 engineers.

The company develops in Romania software and innovative products for the automotive sector. The group employs 5,000 engineers in Romania. They develop interconnectivity apps in the automotive field, as well as apps for efficiency and consumption, said Christian von Albrichsfeld, Continental Romania general manager.

The German group occupies a total area of 60,000 sqm in Brasov. Over 1,400 people work for the company in the city.

The group has seven production units and four research & development centers in Romania. At the end of 2015, Continental had 16,500 employees in the country.
