Dairy producer Danone Romania recorded revenues of over EUR 107 million last year, up 6% over the previous year.

“We managed to reconfirm our leader position on the yoghurt segment, which is our main business,” said Adrian Pascu, Danone general director for Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, and the countries of the Adriatic.

The Danone factory in Bucharest already operates as a regional center, according to the company’s representatives. The Activia yoghurt, which is produced in Romania, reached 12 European markets last year.

“Our factory in Bucharest mostly uses milk from farmer partners in Romania, processing about 50 million liters of milk per year,” Pascu said.

Danone is one of the biggest dairy producers in Romania. Its biggest competitors are local group Albalact, Dutch FrieslandCampina, French Lactalis, and Greek Olympus.
