Discovery Channel’s fiction series Harley and the Davidsons, which has been filmed in Romania this year, will be aired in the U.S. starting September 5. In Romania, the series will be launched on September 11.
The 3-part miniseries was filmed at local Castel Film studios and in several other locations in Romania, in the first half of this year, according to Discovery.
The main characters are played by actors Michiel Huisman, Robert Aramayo, and Bug Hall, known for TV series such as Game of Thrones, CSI, and Criminal Minds.
The Discovery series, which is based on a true story, shows the birth of Harley-Davidson, one of the most popular motorcycle brands in the world, and follows the story of its founders.
Harley-Davidson was founded in Milwakee in 1903 by two friends, William Harley and Arthur Davidson. Arthur’s brother Walter helped them complete the project. Production started in 1906 in a small factory. However, it was the U.S. Army that turned Harley-Davidson into the largest motorcycle manufacturer in the world with the purchases made during World War I.
But the road to success was not exactly smooth - it was filled with innumerable obstacles, ruthless competitors and extraordinary risks. Harley and the Davidsons charts the birth of this iconic bike during a time of great social and technological change beginning at the turn of the 20th century. Find out more about this series here.
