Earthquake shakes Romania during the night
An earthquake shook Romania on Wednesday night (December 28) at around 1:20 AM. The earthquake took place in the Vrancea seismic area, at a depth of almost 100 kilometers, and was also felt in Bucharest, Iasi, and other cities in Eastern Romania, according to Mediafax.
Moldova, Bulgaria, and Western Turkey also felt the shake.
The earthquake's intensity was 5.3 on the Richter scale, according to the National Institute for Earth Physics. The quake produced no victims or material damage, according to the authorities.
A similar quake occurred on September 24 this year.
