European Gymnastics Championships: Romanian qualifies for the men’s floor and vault finals

20 April 2017

Romanian gymnast Marian Dragulescu qualified for the men’s floor and vault finals of the European Gymnastics Championships currently taking place at the Polyvalent Hall in Cluj-Napoca, central Romania.

With a score of 14.666 (similar to Ukraine’s Igor Radivilov), Dragulescu ranked first in the vault qualifications. He also managed to get the second-highest score in the floor qualifications, namely 14.666.

Marian Dragulescu, silver medalist at the floor and vault competitions of last year’s European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, will be Romania’s only representative in the men’s individual finals, as the other five athletes failed to qualify.

More than 270 gymnasts came to Cluj-Napoca for the 7th European Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships, which will end on April 23. Romania’s delegations are made of Marian Dragulescu, Cristian Bataga, Vlad Cotuna, Robert Ghiuzan, Laurentiu Nistor, Andrei Ursache, Catalina Ponor, Larisa Iordache, Ioana Crisan, and Olivia Cimpian.

Marian Dragulescu will perform in the vault and floor finals on Saturday and Sunday.
