Famous Dutch violinist Andre Rieu announced he will have a fifth concert in Romania, on June 6, 2015, after his first four concerts were sold out.

The concert will take place in the same location as the other ones, in Bucharest’s Piata Constitutiei, but a week earlier.

Tickets started selling on December 18, at 18:00, on eventim.ro.

Andre Rieu personally came to Bucharest on December 9 to announce his first concert in Romania. The date for the first concert was June 13. Some 12,000 tickets were sold in less than three hours, on December 10.

Then Rieu’s team announced a second concert, for June 12, and this was also sold out in three hours. Then a third concert and a fourth one were announced, for June 11 and June 14. Each of these sold out.

Andre Rieu sold a total of more than 48,000 tickets, for which Romanians paid more than EUR 4 million, according to Romania-Insider.com. He probably set the record for fastest selling concerts in Romania, as well as for highest ticket sales.

Andre Rieu, 65, also known as “The King of Waltz” and his Johann Strauss Orchestra have turned classical and waltz music into a worldwide concert touring music act. They have been in Billboard’s Top 25 Tours in the last five years.
