Financial education projects bring Romania the CYFI Country Award at Global Inclusion Awards 2017
Romania won the CYFI Country Award at the Global Inclusion Awards 2017, an event that recognizes and honors those that achieve greatness and demonstrate innovation in financial, social and livelihoods education, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurial support for children and youth.
Romania won the CYFI Country Award for the financial education projects carried out nationwide in 2016 by the National Bank, the Authority for Financial Supervision, and the Ministry of Education.
The 6th Global Inclusion Awards Ceremony was held on May 3, 2017 in Berlin, Germany. The event was organized by Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI) and the German G20 Presidency/German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
A total of five prizes were given in the CYFI Country Award category, one for each region in the world. Thus, Romania was the winner in the Europe & Central Asia region, Zambia was the winner of Africa region, Peru – America & the Caribbean, Indonesia – Asia & the Pacific, and Egypt - Middle East & North Africa.
The first Global Inclusion Awards, previously named the CYFI Awards Ceremony, was organized in Amsterdam in 2012.
