First 11,000 subscriptions for 2017 Untold music festival in Romania sold in just three minutes
The first 11,000 subscriptions for the 2017 edition of Untold, Romania’s biggest electronic music festival, sold in less than three minutes on Friday, according to the event’s organizers.
The four-day passes had a promotional price of RON 330 (EUR 73), and were put up for sale last Friday, November 25. The high number of sold subscriptions is even more impressive as there is no information yet about the artists who will perform at next year’s edition. In 2016, Untold brought well-known DJs such as Armin Van Buuren, Tiesto, and Hardwell to Romania.
“Although we prepared a batch of 5,000 subscriptions, we wanted to meet the high interest from the fans and we allowed all those who clicked on the purchase link in the first minute after the sale was launched to complete the transactions. Thus, over 11,000 passes went to the biggest fans of Untold,” said the organizers.
The sales thus totaled RON 3.36 million (EUR 746,000).
The demand was even higher, with some 40,000 people registered to buy the promotional subscriptions. This also left many frustrated that they couldn't get their wanted tickets.
A new batch of 4-day passes will be put for sale this week.
The 2017 edition of the festival will take place in Cluj-Napoca, central Romania, between August 3 and August 6, 2017.
The 2016 Untold brought more than 300,000 people to Cluj, and 10% of them were foreigners.
