The first 3D documentary trilogy about Romania's folklore will hit Romanian screens on January 30, RomaniaFilm has announced. The first part of this trilogy, called 'The folklore collectors', will be followed b ya second installment 'Mos Pupaza' and a third piece named 'Wedding in Maramures'. The aim of all thee movies is to promote the Northern region of Maramures and its traditions. Should these documentaries be successful, others about more Romanian regions will follow.

The first film was shot in Izei valley in Sighetu Marmatiei, and depicts the life of a a musician couple from the region. The 20-minute film was directed by photojournalist Gabriel Boholt and coordinated by Marius Iurascu, general manager of RomaniaFilm. The film was based on a script by journalist Elena Boholt.

RomaniaFilm is the state-owned film production and distribution company in Romania.
