Geopolitical analyst George Friedman comes to Bucharest conference as guest speaker
George Friedman, the founder and chairman of Geopolitical Futures – an online publication that is dedicated to explaining and forecasting the course of global events, and the founder of American publisher and global intelligence company Stratfor, will be in Bucharest next week.
He is the guest speaker of the third edition of Emerging Funding for the Real Economy conference, an event that will take place at the Athenee Palace Hilton in Bucharest on April 19.
The renowned American geopolitical analyst will open the conference with a speech about Europe’s current problems and their impact on the Romanian economy. He will also address the topic of global geopolitical balance and how it affects the financial markets, with a focus on the Central and Eastern Europe’s political and economic evolution.
The debate opened by George Friedman, which will be attended by several leaders of the regional and local banking and financial sectors, will also focus on the regional macroeconomic trends and the way the geopolitical events determine the level of convergence between the American and the European economies.
George Friedman has written several books on analysis and forecasting, books that have enjoyed international recognition. His most recent book Flashpoints: The Emerging Crisis in Europe, forecasts the turmoil currently being seen in Europe stemming from economic, immigration, and political issues.
He founded Stratfor, a private intelligence and forecasting company in 1996 and left the company in 2015. That year, he founded Geopolitical Futures.
