German group Bosch sees higher turnover in Romania
German group Bosch recorded consolidated sales of EUR 332 million in Romania, in the 2016 fiscal year, up 22% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the total net sales, which include domestic deliveries and sales to affiliated companies, amounted to EUR 592 million, up almost 58% over the same period last year.
“2016 was a year with a dynamic growth for Bosch in Romania, which continues to be an important market for the group,” said Mihai Boldijar, the German group's representative in Romania.
The company reached again a significant two-figure increase in sales in the first quarter of this year, Boldijar added.
Bosch ponders investing in a new plant in Romania, but the company’s representative didn’t mention the area. “The decision for a new Bosch production unit will be taken in the near future, by the end of the year, most likely,” Boldijar said.
Bosch currently has some 4,800 employees in Romania, 50% more than last year. The number of employees will continue to grow this year, especially for the locations in Blaj, Cluj and Timisoara.
Besides the R&D center in Cluj and its plants for mobility solutions in Cluj and Blaj, Bosch also operates a linear production unit in Blaj, as well as a business processes outsourcing center (BPO) in Timisoara. In Bucharest, Bosch has a sales office.
Last year, Bosch invested some EUR 63 million in developing its local operations.
