Greek toy retailer Jumbo sees 40% higher sales in Romania

The sales of the Greek toy retailer Jumbo increased by 40% in the second half of 2016 reaching EUR 39.7 million.

Meanwhile, the profit generated by the local operations advanced by 51% to EUR 14 million, according to data published yesterday by the company.

The local operations generated almost 10% of the group’s total sales during this period.

Jumbo has seven stores in Romania, which employed 609 people at the end of December. Two of the stores are located in Bucharest whereas the rest are in Timisoara, Oradea, Arad, Ploiesti, and Pitesti. In the next five years, the network will expand to at least 20 units, according to the company.

Jumbo set up its local subsidiary in August 2006.
