Huawei Romania sells 500,000 smartphones in 2016
Huawei Romania, the local subsidiary of the Chinese technology group Huawei, ranked second in the local smartphone market last year, after the South-Korean group Samsung.
The company sold over 500,000 units, and thus doubled its market share, reports local Ziarul Financiar.
Its turnover rose by 80% year-on-year in 2016. The average selling price of Huawei smartphones increased by 28% year-on-year.
Huawei plans to reach a market share of 20% on the smartphone segment this year and to increase by 30% the average selling price of its phones.
“The market share doubled compared to the one recorded in the previous year, whereas the deliveries of smartphones grew significantly, totaling over half a million units,” said Fred Wangfei, director of Huawei Romania’s consumer division. He gave no details about the company's market share in 2016.
