Kaufland will open online store in Romania next year
German retailer Kaufland, the leader in the retail trade in Romania, will open its online store next year, said Valer Hancas, communication director within Kaufland Romania.
The online platform will be developed at group level, but the local subsidiary will also hire people in the online team, he added, reports local Wall-street.ro.
Hancas said that 75% of Romanians own a smartphone, they want their shopping experience to be “simple and efficient,” and they look for “healthy products”.
“I bet in the future on the digitized store, on personalized, interactive experiences, on the Internet of Things. The new generations will massively focus on healthy products,” he added.
Other retailers such as Mega Image, Carrefour, Cora, and Metro Cash&Carry have already opened online stores in Romania.
