Man robs Romanian bank with toy gun
An unidentified man apparently managed to rob a bank in Romania using a toy gun.
The man, who had his face covered with a mask, entered a bank unit in Arad, western Romania on Thursday morning and, under gun threat, managed to steal some money and run.
The man took RON 86,000 (EUR 19,500), according to local Agerpres, but he dropped the bag with the money some 200 meters from the bank. The police also found there a pair of gloves, a hat, and a toy gun, which they believe belong to the thief.
According to local News.ro, the robbery took place at a BCR unit. The police are now trying to find the thief.
In early-July this year, a similar incident took place at a bank in Bistrita, northern Romania. Just one month earlier, a man armed with a rubber bullet gun tried to rob a BRD unit in Bucharest. However, this thief ran off empty handed after the bank cashier pushed the panic button.
