New public wage law in Romania. How much do doctors and teachers earn?
The Romanian President will have the highest gross salary in the public system, namely RON 15,000 (EUR 3,358) per month, according to the draft of the new public wage law cited by local Profit.ro.
The presidents of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, and the Prime Minister will get gross salaries of EUR 3,068. The MPs will earn over EUR 2,200 whereas ministers will receive EUR 2,700.
Bucharest’s mayor will also get EUR 2,700. Mayors will earn between EUR 718 and EUR 1,359, depending on the number of inhabitants in their cities.
As for the salaries in education, a university teacher with 25 years of experience will have a base salary of almost EUR 1,200.
The salary of a primary doctor will start from EUR 774 and will reach EUR 964. A primary emergency doctor could earn up to EUR 1,078 per month.
