NN Asigurari sees increase in gross written premiums in Romania

Local life insurer NN Asigurari, part of the Dutch group NN (former ING Insurance), recorded a 3.6% increase in the volume of gross written premiums in the first six months of the year. These reached EUR 71.4 million. The average gross premium reached EUR 403.

The company’s gross profit amounted to EUR 1.9 million, up 22.7% over the same period in 2015. NN Asigurari de Viata managed financial assets totaling EUR 692 million, up by 6.7% over the same period last year.

NN’s private pension business also increased significantly. The net assets of the mandatory pension fund managed by NN Pensii went up by 26% year-on-year, to almost EUR 2.27 billion at the end of June, as the number of participants to the pension fund and the average contribution went up.

NN manages the pensions of about 1.9 million Romanians, representing 28.5% of the total number of participants in mandatory private pension funds.

On the voluntary private pension segment, NN Asigurari de Viata saw its net assets increased by 21%, to EUR 152 million.
