One Romanian dead, six injured in multiple car accident in Hungary
One Romanian died and six others were injured in a multiple car accident that occurred in Hungary on Wednesday morning, only 2 km away from the border with Romania.
The six injured Romanians were taken to hospitals in Szeged and Mako, according to information from the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to preliminary information from the Romanian Department for Emergency Situations (DSU), a total of 39 people were involved in the crash. Four of them died, and 12 were injured. Of the people who lost their lives in the accident, one of them was Romanian, one was Bulgarian, and two were Turks.
The injured, five of whom were in serious condition, were transported to Hungarian hospitals.
The multiple car accident occurred on Wednesday morning, at around 09:00. A Romanian tour bus with 17 passengers on board was also involved in the crash. Fortunately, none of the bus’ passengers was hurt, according to representatives of Eurolines Romania, the company running the bus, cited by local News.ro. The driver was injured, however, and was taken to the hospital.
The Romanian authorities also participated in the rescue mission with several ambulances.
