Porsche Engineering hires 20 engineers this year in Romania

The Cluj-based local subsidiary of Porsche Engineering wants to hire 20 software and mechanical engineers by the end of 2016.

The company has also started a Masters program in car engineering with the Cluj Technical University, as well as a scholarship program for the best students. It wants to have 25 Masters students a year, starting 2017-2018, reports local Profit.ro. It is discussing a similar partnership with the Babes – Bolyai University in Cluj.

On the long term, the company plans to reach “hundreds of employees” in Cluj. For now, seven people work in the company.

Porsche Engineering has six subsidiaries. The other units are in Weissach and Bietigheim-Bissingen (Germany), Prague, Shanghai and Nardò (Italy). Porsche Engineering Romania specializes in software development and digital transformation of cars, focusing on the full development of the car.

“We want to grow new skills here that will be exclusively developed in Romania. We do not want to duplicate the work,” said Malte Radmann, Porsche Engineering Group GmbH GM.
