French executive Isabelle Pleska has been appointed general manager of the DIY retailer Praktiker Romania.

She will replace German Michael Krahn, who has left the company after almost seven years.

Pleska was previously Director of Strategy within the company. Before that, she had led for more than 10 years the operations of the DIY retailer Brico Depot, the former Bricostore, one of Praktiker’s competitors in Romania. She is fluent in Romanian, Hungarian, English and French.

Praktiker Romania has 28 stores in 24 cities in Romania. The company, which is owned by Turkish investor Omer Susli, had EUR 131 million in sales in 2014.
