Romania is 2017 “affordable destination” for Asian travelers
Romania has been included in a list of “9 affordable travel destinations to use your annual leave on in 2017” by Singapore-based portal AsiaOne.
The list is meant to offer ideas of low cost and novel places for spending a vacation, as these were identified as the “two biggest challenges Singaporeans face when trying to decide which trips deserve their precious leave days.”
Romania was included in the Longer Trips category, alongside Morocco, Portugal, Greece, and Poland. The capital Bucharest is singled out as being “packed with excitement from an architectural and cultural point of view,” while the country is described as being very cheap by European standards.
The list of Shorter trips Singaporeans could take this year covers Yogyakarta (Indonesia), Kathmandu (Nepal), Jiufen (Taiwan), and Hue (Vietnam).
Some 2.47 million foreign tourists visited Romania in 2016, 354,500 of whom arrived from Asia, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INS).
