Romania bans trucks from seaside highway during summer weekends

01 July 2016

Romania’s national highways company CNADNR has decided that vehicles over 3.5 tons won’t be allowed on the A2 highway on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from July 1 until August 31.

The busses and passenger transport vehicles will be exempted from this rule.

The A2 highway, also known as the “sun highway”, connects Romania’s capital Bucharest to the Black Sea port of Constanta and the seaside resorts, some 220 kilometers to the east. Traffic on the highway is busier during summer weekends when more people go to the seaside.
