Romania, first time participant at China's biggest book fair
The 2015 Beijing International Book Fair starts today, August 26, and Romania is present at the event with its own stand themed Discover Romania between the books covers. It’s the first time when Romania is present at this book fair in China, the country’s most important event of this kind.
Romania’s program includes debates and meetings to be attended by editors, writers, translators, university professors, and Romanian and Chinese journalists, according to a statement of the Romanian Cultural Institute. Writers, artists, critics, journalists, translators and other cultural figures are among the fair’s guests.
A total of 14 Romanian publishing houses will display their books at the Romanian stand, namely Art, Casa de Pariuri Literare, Corint, Curtea Veche, Humanitas, Igloo, ICR publishing house, Polirom, Ravex Coms, Orizonturi, Tracus Arte, Tritonic, Vivaldi, and Vremea. Moreover, the Romanian National Museum of Arts and the National Museum of Contemporary Arts will show their albums to the visitors.
Beijing International Book Fair is one of the largest publishing trade fairs in Asia. This year’s edition of the event will end on August 30.
