Romania up 17 places in WEF’s Global Competitiveness Report

Romania climbed 17 places, from 76th to 59th, in the Global Competitiveness Report released annually by the World Economic Forum (WEF), ranking higher than EU countries like Hungary, Greece and Croatia, but behind Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia or Poland.

In terms of neighbouring countries, Romania is surpassed only by Bulgaria, which ranked 54th. Hungary comes after Romania, on 60th, while Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Serbia are not among the first 70 economies of the world, according to the competitiveness criteria.

Among the EU countries, Romania surpasses Hungary, Croatia, Greece, Slovenia and Slovakia in terms of competitiveness of the national economy.The entire report here.
