Romanian authorities to develop an action plan for e-commerce
Romania’s Ministry of Communications has launched an open tender for the acquisition of consultancy services, analyzes, evaluations and training in the field of electronic commerce.
The contract is estimated at over EUR 630,000, without VAT, according to an announcement published yesterday in the Electronic Public Procurement System SEAP, reports local Hotnews.ro. The contract is financed with European funds.
The results of the project include the implementation of a public policy proposal in this area and the development of an e-commerce action plan by 2020.
This project is needed, because “e-commerce is currently a growing field at global and European level, but one with a moderate growth in Romania”, according to the tender book. Only 15.9% of the Romanians aged 16-74 used the internet in 2014 to buy goods and services for personal use, whereas the EU average reached 30% in 2013.
