Romania's seaside resort Constanta could host a festival similar to Untold

27 March 2017

Constanta mayor Decebal Fagadau announced on Friday that a big festival similar to Cluj-Napoca’s Untold could be organized in Constanta, and the first edition would take place this year.

The event would be organized by the same team that is in charge of the festival in Cluj-Napoca, reports local News.ro.

“We decided to move towards a partnership to organize a festival, not Untold, but a festival in its own right, but with the same team that already has a recipe for success, which has a unique track record in Romania,” said Fagadau.

Untold Festival general manager Bogdan Buta said that the future festival in Constanta would be designed in accordance with the region. The event would highlight the potential of Constanta and the Romanian seaside, he added.

Buta explained that Untold’s first edition had a budget of EUR 5 million, and 7% came from public funds. The second edition was financed exclusively from the sale of tickets and partnerships.
