Romanian women’s epee team wins silver at the World Cup in Legnano

The Romanian women’s epee team won silver on Sunday at the World Cup competition in Legnano, Italy, after losing to Russia in the final, 30-42.

Romania’s team, consisting of Ana-Maria Popescu (CSA Steaua), Simona Gherman (CSA Steaua), Simona Pop (CSA Steaua), and Loredana Dinu (CS Dinamo), defeated Sweden in the quarterfinals with 45-37 and then beat France in the semifinals with 36-31.

The US team got the bronze after it defeated France with a score of 28-22.

In 2014, Romania also came second at the World Cup in Legnano, after losing to Estonia in the final, with a score of 29-33.
