Romania’s Peles Castle closed several days for Queen Anne’s funerals

Both the Peles and Pelisor Castles in Sinaia mountain resort will be closed for several days next week for Queen Anne’s funerals.

Peles Castle will be closed to the public between August 8 and August 11. Queen Anne’s body will be placed in the castle’s Hall of Honor from August 9, 17:00 until August 10, 18:30. According to a statement from the Royal House of Romania, neither the public nor the press will be allowed in the Hall of Honor in this period.

Tourists can visit the Peles Castle from August 12 to August 14, between 09:15 and 16:15.

Pelisor Castle, also located on the Royal domain in Sinaia, will be closed to the public from August 8 to August 10. Those who want to visit Pelisor next week can do so from August 11 to August 14, between 09:15 and 16:15.

All visits scheduled between August 9 and August 11 were canceled, according to a statement from the Peles National Museum.

Queen Anne died on August 1 in Switzerland. Her body will be brought to Romania on August 9 while the funeral is scheduled for August 13. The official program of the funerals here.
