Romania’s EU funds absorption rate reaches 65.8%
The current absorption rate of EU funds for the 2007-2013 programming period reached 65.8% in March, up by 2.3 percentage points over the previous month, according to the European Funds Ministry.
The declarations of expenditure submitted to the European Commission amounted to over EUR 12.5 billion at the end of March. However, the effective absorption rate, namely the EU reimbursements, reached 61.57%, or EUR 11.7 billion.
The absorption rate totaled 75.7% on the Sectoral Operational Programme "Increase of Economic Competitiveness". On the Sectoral Operational Programme Human Resources Development, the rate reached only 54.5%.
June 30 is the deadline for sending to the European Commission the final application for interim payment.
