Romania's OMV Petrom makes EUR 500 mln from non-oil sales
OMV Petrom, the biggest oil&gas company in Romania, recorded some EUR 500 million worth of non-oil product and service sales in 2015, according to the group’s annual report cited by local Ziarul Financiar.
OMV Petrom has a network of over 550 fuel stations, which also sell sandwiches, coffee, snacks, soft drinks, books, magazines, toys, and other products. The company can thus be considered one of the biggest owners of small supermarkets in Romania.
The company’s non-fuel sales last year were higher than those of French retailer Cora, which owns 11 hypermarkets in Romania.
“In 2015, the sales of complementary products expressed in local currency represented 15% of the total retail sales,” according to OMV Petrom’s annual report.
