Romania's railway passenger carrier ups salaries by 10%
The Government approved yesterday the budget of Romania's railway passenger carrier CFR Calatori.
Its total revenues for this year were estimated at some EUR 500 million, up by 5.7% compared to the preliminary level in 2014. This amount includes the state subsidy for the passenger rail transport, which amounts to EUR 268 million this year, according to the Transport Ministry, reports local Mediafax.
The estimated expenses are almost at the same level with the revenues and include a 10% increase in the employees’ salaries that was decided at the end of last year.
CFR Calatori has some EUR 17.2 million for investments this year. It will use the money to acquire new wagons and locomotives.
