Romania’s railway company launches summer trains to Greece
Romania’s state-owned railway company CFR started operating direct trains between Bucharest and Thessaloniki in Greece. The first train left the Romanian capital’s main train station Gara de Nord on Friday, June 17, on the route Bucharest – Sofia – Thessaloniki.
CFR will operate these trains until September 4, once a week. The train, which is made of four cars, will depart from Bucharest on Fridays (at 12:50) and from Thessaloniki on Sundays (at 23:10). One trip will last around 18 hours.
One-way tickets cost EUR 45 per person for regular cars, and up to EUR 58.5 for sleeping cars. They can be purchased from CFR stations and ticket office for international traffic.
