Romania’s tax agency sells part of private cemetery at discounted price
Romania’s tax agency ANAF wants to sell a 6,000-sqm land plot that is part of a cemetery in the city of Slatina, southern Romania, for a discounted price.
The agency is selling this land plot to recover a debt from the owner, local firm Ecumenic Funerar, reports local Profit.ro.
The land plot will be auctioned on March 31, the starting price being RON 146,500 (some EUR 32,000). The price is reduced by 50% compared to the initial estimate, as ANAF failed on several occasions to sell that piece of land.
The land plot is a continuation of the existing cemetery, hosting several crypts. However, no one has been buried there yet.
Apparently, ANAF may find a buyer this time, as the Church is interested in the land plot.
