S Immo completes first expansion stage at Sun Plaza mall in Bucharest
Austrian group S Immo, one of the most important real estate developers in the local market, has completed the first stage of reconfiguring the shopping center Sun Plaza in southern Bucharest.
The new area will be opened this Thursday and will cover 7,800 sqm. It will include four new tenants, namely Altex, Terranova, O Bag and Autograf, whereas the anchor tenants H&M, C&A and BebeTei have relocated their stores and now benefit from larger shopping areas.
The tunnel that connects the subway station to the shopping mall has also been expanded.
“Construction work will continue at a rapid pace in the coming months, so more changes are to come,” said Friendrich Wachernig, member of the board of S Immo.
The mall’s reconfiguring process began in the first quarter of 2016. It will be completed in the first three months of 2018. In total, the commercial center will be expanded by 11,000 sqm, and will include about 40 new stores.
Sun Plaza is one of the biggest malls in Bucharest, with a leasable area of 80,000 sqm, before the expansion.
