Survey: Social Democratic Party would take 40% in Romania's parliamentary elections
The Save Romania Union (USR), the party led by mathematician and activist Nicusor Dan, managed to surpass the National Liberal Party (PNL) in the voting intentions for the parliamentary elections, according to a survey by KANTAR TNS, commissioned by USR.
The Social-Democratic Party (PSD) remains the leader, with about 40% of the votes. USR comes next, with 19% of the votes, followed by PNL, with 18%.
ALDE, the party controlled by Senate president Calin Popescu-Tariceanu, and PMP, the party controlled by former President Traian Basescu, would get 7% of the votes, according to the survey. The Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) would only get 3% of the votes.
The results reflect the answers of the people who already know which party they will support at the parliamentary elections on December 11. However, only 55% of the survey participants said that they would certainly participate in the elections and they know which party they will support.
The National Liberal Party (PNL) claims it has over 30% of the vote intentions, according to another survey.
