A Tarom flight to Amsterdam had to turn back to Bucharest after 25 minutes due to a malfunction in the air conditioning system. The plane took off from the Henri Coanda Airport at 09:00.

The aircraft’s passengers had another flight scheduled for 13:10.

“The Boeing 737 aircraft landed safely in Bucharest, and the passengers were disembarked and assisted by representatives of the company. They haven’t been in any danger,” Tarom spokesperson Georgeta Dinu told local News.ro.

After checking the aircraft, the technicians found that it was a minor fault in the air conditioning system, she added.

Tarom recorded gross losses of EUR 11.2 million in the first quarter of this year. The quarterly loss was higher than the annual one the airline recorded last year.

In late-June this year, Tarom had to cancel three return flights due to unforeseen technical problems.
