23 June 2016

Where do Bucharesters go when they request an Uber ride? Car ride service Uber has made a ranking of the most popular destinations in Bucharest, based on where Uber drivers took their passengers between February 2015 and June this year.

The Henri Coanda Airport and Gara de Nord train station lead the ranking, followed by AFI Palace Cotroceni mall, the Old City, and Baneasa Shopping City in northern Bucharest. The top ten is completed by Promenada Mall, the Bitdefender headquarters, Unirii Square, Mega Mall, and Regie student campus.

The list continues with Radisson Blu, Herastrau-Kiseleff area, JW Marriott, Bucuresti Mall, Control Club, Victoriei Square, Plaza Romania mall, SEMA Parc, Herastrau-Soseaua Nordului, Floreasca Park, Hilton, Simbio, the Brezoianu – Lipscani intersection (which hosts bars such as Energiea and Origo), Bucharest University, and Rose Garden Residence Apartments.

“In Bucharest, we are getting close to 100,000 people who chose Uber as a reliable service, whether they go out or going to the airport, shopping, at work, school or home,” said Nicoleta Schroeder, general manager Uber Romania.

Uber entered the Romanian market in February 2015 and is now offering three services in Bucharest, namely UberX, UberSELECT, and Uber Child Seat.

Last weekend, Uber also brought its UberJET private airline service to Romania.
