Travel Channel, one of the best-known television channels specialized on travel and leisure in the world, recently launched a six-episode miniseries called Food and Wine Adventures in Romania, which it will broadcast in 130 countries.

The series follows popular British TV presenter Jenny Powell and French wine expert Olivier Magny in their culinary journey through Romania.

“From the bustling city of Bucharest to Romania's oldest city Constanța, the pair are on a mission to share their passions for local produce,” says a presentation on the Travel Channel UK website.

The first episode of the show has already been broadcasted in the UK and will have its premiere in Romania on Saturday, May 23, at 20:00.

The TV show will be aired in all the 130 countries in Europe, Middle East Africa and Asia-Pacific where Travel Channel currently emits, according to representatives of Scripps Networks Interactive, the company that controls the TV channel, quoted by Mediafax.

The first episode presents the Romanian province of Maramures, and the following ones are shot in Brasov, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Arad and Bucharest.

In their journey, Jenny Powell and Olivier Magny visit farmer’s markets and fairs, wineries and farms, as well as some of the country’s best restaurants. The series continues Romania’s promotion campaign on Travel Channel which started with the documentary trilogy Wild Carpathia, which was broadcasted between 2011 and 2013.

Unlike Wild Carpathia, which featured personalities such as Prince Charles, Romania’s Princess Margareta and canoeist Ivan Patzaichin, the new series focuses on ordinary people and less known places.
