15 September 2016

Researches carried out in the Tara Hategului Dinosaur Geopark in Romania brought to light two new nests with dinosaur eggs.

The research was conducted this summer by ten students from the Geology and Geophysics Faculty of the Bucharest University, together with their teachers, reports local Agerpres.

"Participants discovered and recovered fragments of titanosaurs fossils - large four-legged dinosaurs, herbivores, but also two new nests with dinosaur eggs, thus continuing the research conducted in previous years by students from the Bucharest University," said Adina Popa, Tara Hategului Dinosaur Geopark spokesperson.

Those interested in seeing the nests can go to the Dinosaur Geopark’s Centre for Science and Art, located in General Berthelot commune in Hunedoara county. A life-size model of a titanosaurs - Magyarosaurus Dacus is also on display there.

A nest with ten real dinosaur eggs, discovered in Tustea, Hunedoara county, is also on display at Dino Parc, the only dinosaur park in Romania, located in Rasnov, near Brasov. The park also hosts a life-size replica of Hatzegopteryx, the largest flying dinosaur of all time, discovered on Romanian territory.
