US Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders: Bucharest residents have much faster Internet than most of the US
US Senator Bernie Sanders criticized the low internet speed in the US by making a comparison between America and Romania in a Twitter post on Wednesday.
“Today, people living in Bucharest, Romania have access to much faster Internet than most of the US. That’s unacceptable and must change,” Sander posted on Twitter.
“High-speed Internet access is no longer a luxury. It’s crucial for rural America to be connected and do business with the rest of the world,” he added in another Tweet.
The American Senator’s comments triggered both funny and criticizing reactions on Twitter. While some suggest Sanders to invade Romania or just to come here, others felt offended by the Tweets.
Bernie Sanders is Hilary Clinton's main opponent for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 presidential elections.

Romania has 9 of the world’s top 15 cities with fastest broadband internet.
Half of the fixed internet connections in Romania are high-speed.
Capannelli, World Bank: Romania should close the broadband gap and reduce urban-rural disparities.
