Wizz Air transports six million people to and from Cluj-Napoca
Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air, the company that ranks first among local airlines based on the number of passengers, has transported six million passengers from and to Cluj-Napoca since launching its first flight from Cluj-Napoca in November 2007.
It currently has a team of 200 pilots and cabin crew operating on four A320 aircraft from Cluj-Napoca airport. The company will introduce the fifth aircraft this month, an investment of EUR 98 million.
Wizz Air will also introduce five new flights to and from Bucharest starting July. The airline will have 20 aircraft in Romania by the end of the of the year. The company currently provides 118 routes to 16 countries from nine airports in Romania. About 600 people work for Wizz Air in Romania.
The low cost airline recently announced that it reached another important milestone in Romania: 25 million passengers carried since it started operating in the country.
