AmCham Romania announces new Board of Directors
The American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania) has a new Board of Directors following elections on March 22 for five of the eleven seats.
The five Board Members elected in 2017 for a two-year mandate include Elisabeta Moraru - country business development manager at Google, Gabriela Matei - general manager of Microsoft Romania, Daniela Nemoianu - senior partner, Nemoianu Consulting, Tax&Law, Ionut Sas - tax partner, PwC Romania, and James Daniel Stewart - vice-president of Raiffeisen Bank.
Jaak Mikkel, the general manager of Coca-Cola HBC Romania is the new president of the organization, AmCham announced. He is in the second year of his mandate, serving as AmCham vice-president for the past year.
Meanwhile, Radu Florescu, the CEO of Centrade Cheil, continues as vice-president and is joined by Anda Todor, managing partner of law firm Dentons. Also, Madeline Alexander, audit partner & EU account leader at Deloitte is AmCham’s Treasurer for the second year of her mandate, while Bogdan Ion, country managing partner with EY Romania and Catalin Velescu, business services operations leader CEE – MEA continue as Board Members for the second year of their two-year mandate.
“The new Board will meet on March 31 to allocate the committees’ leadership and other AmCham representation roles,” AmCham Romania announced.
For 2017, two Ex-Officio Board Members will join the 11 Board Members team with the specific mandate to develop SMEs & entrepreneurship initiatives. Thus, following the decision of AmCham Annual General Meeting (AGM) to extent the number of Board Members from 11 to 13, two Board seats were automatically allocated to representatives of companies in the Business category, according to the organization’s statement.
AmCham also announced that the Auditing Committee would be comprised of Manuela Furdui - managing partner Finexpert Consulting, Florentina Grigore - certified sccountant, RSM Scot, and Vlad Icodin - general manager Top Movers.
AmCham Romania is one of the biggest business and advocacy association in Romania, with over 400 members. It represents American, international, and local companies, and facilitates the dialogue between the business community and the central authorities.
