Famous violinist Andre Rieu sells out Romania concerts in hours, announces third gig
Famous Dutch violinist Andre Rieu probably broke the record for best-selling concert in Romania and in just one day announced not one, but two new concerts in Bucharest, after tickets for his first concert sold in less than three hours.
Andre Rieu, who is also known as “The King of Waltz” came personally in Bucharest on Tuesday, December 9, to announce his first concert he and his Johann Strauss Orchestra would have in Romania, on June 13, in Piata Constitutiei.
Tickets for the concert started selling on the ticketing platform eventim.ro on Wednesday, at 9:00, and by 12:00 all the 12,500 tickets had been sold, which makes this the fastest selling Andre Rieu event ever.
Then, at 13:00, the organisers announced a second concert, on June 12. Tickets for the second concert also sold in a few hours.
With 23,000 tickets already sold in just about seven hours, Andre Rieu announced a third concert in Bucharest, for June 14. By the time this article was published (December 10, at 19:30), half of the third concert had already been sold, according to real-time information available on eventim.ro. This means the third concert will also be sold-out.
